Tap Into It Where You Are
22nd March 2016
The current focus of Tap into IT is on older people (65+ year olds) who
-want to get online or use a computer or have been persuaded that they should give it a go.
-lack confidence in using digital technology and prefer to get help in person rather than from a book or other 'self-help' resource.
Also we serve organisations and businesses who have an interest in helping older people and others to get online, for their customers' benefit and because it makes good business sense (-cost and efficiency savings, increased service and sales opportunities etc).
1. Beginner classes and clubs in sheltered housing, community centres and other group locations.
2. 1:1 or small group sessions in people’s own homes, in person or via the internet using 'remote support' software
Our organisation is seeks to:
-enable adults who are unable to access the internet, particularly the over 65’s, to get online for the first time, for their own and others’ benefit.
-enable those who are ‘beyond the basics’ to tap into the web and digital technology.
-provide this service ‘where people are’ - in their own familiar community settings
-work in partnership with other people, community networks and organisations with an interest in the welfare of these potentially vulnerable groups for mutual benefit.
-provide voluntary and paid work experience and opportunities
