Memory Matters South West CIC is a social enterprise founded and run by two nurses with a commitment and passion to change the experience for people living with a diagnosis of dementia in the community for the better. Established in 2010 Memory Matters has worked on developing their community projects providing day clubs to people living with dementia in their own community with access to research-based therapies and peer support.
They provide tailored 1;1 time with trained activity workers and group activity sessions in care homes that aim to connect with people who would otherwise be at risk of social isolation through the challenges of a diagnosis of dementia.
Memory Matters are a positive, inspirational organisation with an excellent track record.
We work with and for the following partners:
Kernow CCG Livewell Southwest
Plymouth City Council
Memory Matters social purpose is to continually enhance the lives of those with dementia. Memory Matters provide revenue services to enable us to reduce the cost of services for those with dementia in our communities. These people do not fit within statutory services and therefore by accusing our service put in place preventative and therapeutic service which engage and provide valuable respite for their careers.
Memory Matters continually evaluate our services with people with dementia to ensure we provide whats needed.
Our revenue based services i.e Training, consultancy and Cafe Project enable us to cover the costs of providing community care services, to evaluate what we do and to address local needs and challenge stigma surrounding dementia.
