John Taylor Hospice CIC
12th June 2015
John Taylor Hospice has been by the bedside of people in Birmingham and the West Midlands for more than 100 years.
We provide palliative and end of life care both at our hospice in Birmingham and at people's homes.
That care is 'Taylor-made' to the individual and is expert practical and emotional support. Our services include an In-Patient Unit, Hospice at Home, Bereavement and Well-Being, day services in our Heart of the Hospice and a Multi-Disciplinary Team including occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians, social workers, pharmacists and our family support worker as well as nurse prescribers, doctors, nurses and health care assistants.
All our staff and volunteers are committed to making every moment matter for everyone we care for.
John Taylor Hospice is the oldest non-denominational hospice in the UK.
We were founded in 1910 in the spirit of mutualisation and were gifted to the NHS in 1948. In 2011 our staff voted to become a new mutual, a social enterprise.
Independence means we can 'Taylor-make' our care to individual need, ensuring we are there for local families how, when and where they need us.
Since that date we have doubled our annual patient contacts from 5,000 in 2011 to 10,000 in 2015.
Our purpose is to ease the personal and social cost of illness and death, just a little, every day, through practical help, alleviating pain and rekindling possibility.
You can rely on us to be there for you, your friends and your family. John Taylor Hospice means the very best care, 24/7, when and where you need it, at no cost to you.
