We provide a space where Social Entrepreneurs can work, with meeting rooms and a network of support. We are a collective of social entrepreneurs and freelance professionals committed to helping UK 3rd sector organisations in areas such as research, computer maintenance, networks, database systems, training, web and graphics, media, design, photography, illustration, accountancy and more.
We were set up originally as a support network for people that work in IT in the voluntary sector about 20 years ago. We have become a support network for social entrepreneurs and freelancers that work in a range of disciplines working for NGOs or the public sector.
For the last 15 years we have provided freelancers and social enterpreneurs with desk-space in Bethnal Green, London in a friendly and collaborative environment. Currently (2017) suitable candidates can get a full-time desk for £220 pm with reception, industrial strength internet and free use of our meeting room - all situated in a 17C building of great character that we share with the Young Foundation and other social enterprises; adjacent to a park and a tube station .
Common Knowledge believes in supporting organisations that improve life in a sustainable and ethical way. We believe that autonomous not-for-profit organisations represent people’s ability to do things for themselves to change the world. They require high quality support services.
