Catalyst Psychology Community Interest Company is a Social Enterprise offering child and educational psychology services throughout the Greater Manchester area. We provide specialist assessments for children with social, emotional and learning difficulties, as well as consultancy and training for staff in schools and other community settings. Our support for schools and other public bodies can be arranged on the basis of an annual support contract or on a 'pay-as-you-go' basis.
We have been in business for almost 5 years. In that time we have built a strong local and national reputation for the quality and responsiveness of the service we provide. In a highly competitive local market we currently provide the core educational psychology support service for around 1/3 of Primary schools and ¼ of Secondary schools in the City of Manchester, together with occasional services for schools in the surrounding Greater Manchester local authorities.
“The level of service provided by Catalyst is consistently exceptional and we consider ourselves extremely fortunate to work with such a highly professional team. One of the key successes of the company’s values, I believe, is their commitment to responding individually to the unique and changing needs of their clients."
Catalyst Psychology CIC was formed in 2011 with the aim of providing an educational psychology service that could be developed in collaboration with the community of schools it serves, to improve outcomes for children and young people aged 0 – 19 who experience barriers to their development, participation and learning. In addition to its direct work with children and young people the organisation provides training and development activities for the adults who work with children in schools and other settings, and for parents carers. At a time of poor employment prospects for young people, the organisation has a strong commitment to developing work and training opportunities for young people, offering pathways into employment in particular for those wish to pursue a career in psychology.
