Acorn Early Years Foundation
11th December 2018
Acorn Early Years Foundation operates day nurseries, out-of-school clubs, forest schools, training and consultancy in Milton Keynes, Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire. With 30 years experience of childcare, the foundation works in partnership with schools and other organisations to provide community-based early years services, specialising in outdoor play and learning, and professional development.
With nearly thirty years experience of providing childcare, Acorn is a well-established organisation, with a reputation for making high quality early years care and education as affordable and accessible as possible. Acorn's training centre and forest school provision are particularly well-known in the local area. There are seven nurseries in Milton Keynes, three in Northamptonshire and one in Bedfordshire.
Acorn's social impact model is based on a theory of change which focuses on the individual needs of children, their families, the local community and the natural world, working towards a more caring and connected society. The cross-subsidy financial model enables early years care and education to be provided in areas of social disadvantage.
