Toast Ale produces delicious craft beer (5% ABV) using fresh, surplus bread from bakeries and sandwich makers that would otherwise be wasted. Launched in Hackney in January 2016, we've brewed over 28,000 beers and rescued almost one tonne of surplus fresh bread to date. We invite consumers to be part of the solution, and give all our profits to the environmental charity Feedback (www.feedbackglobal.org) for the global fight against food waste.
As featured on Jamie & Jimmy's Friday Night Feast with Jamie Oliver. Gold award winner of the International Beer Challenge 2016 - Design & Packaging category. Over 1 tonne of bread saved in our first 6 months of trading. Sales nationwide through bricks and mortar stockists, online via toastale.com, and our distributor partners Nectar, Beers By Mail, Beerbods and more.
We have a three-fold mission:
1) Use surplus bread in place of some of the virgin grain used in beer production - thereby keeping edible bread in the food chain, driving down food waste, and reducing the demand for grain grown solely for beer
2)Raise awareness about the problem of food waste and promote exciting solutions
3) Raise funds for the global food waste charity Feedback by donating 100% of Toast Ale profits
